Couples Therapy

Our relationships are challenged by different forces time and again. Let’s work together to reconnect and reinforce your bond, mending mind, body and soul.

Relationships are what bring us joy in our lives, but sometimes despite our best efforts we come upon a stumbling block. We find ourselves struggling or unable to connect to those we love and sometimes even to ourselves. Maybe issues from past relationships get in the way, maybe there is a trauma to the relationship (such as illness, job loss, or simply entering a new stage of life, such as parenthood or midlife. There may have been an infidelity, loss of a job, or emotional issues such as depression / anxiety. Often we just feel a lack of connection we once had.

We can get stuck in a cycle of anger, disappointment, frustration and most damaging - withdrawal, feeling lost and alone. We need someone who's willing to give us advice, feedback and information in addition to being a supportive and objective listener. We need an educated, experienced, skilled, artistic clinician to help us discover and pursue the path we believe will lead us to a happy and healthy life full of love and connection. Sometimes that path leads toward a deeper relationship, and sometimes it leads to goodbye. The therapist must be comfortable with either.

After two years in therapy with no progress, I began working with Christin. I was ready to roll up my sleeves and do the work, and Christin rolled up her sleeves too! She has a bit of the Northeast in her attitude….she tells you like it is, and you never have to wonder what she is thinking. She pushes gently when you need it…like a great coach helping you become your best self. With her help I got my life where I wanted it to be and I continue to go back for “tune-ups” when I need them.

“I like her style. No rigid plan for sessions, she deals with whatever we bring in that week so that it is fresh and easy to relate to. And more than anything, she understands men…how we think, how we’re raised and why we do what we do. She really helped us understand the differences we had through understanding where the other was coming from and why. That deeper understanding really improved our intimacy. It’s nice to feel understood. If we struggle in the future we will definitely see Christin for what she calls “tune ups”.
