Frequently Asked Questions
What type of payments do you accept?
I'm pleased to accept cash, checks, and credit cards, including FSA and HSA cards. Because I am very passionate about your privacy and the idea that therapy should be tailored to meet your individual needs and support you in your journey I have chosen not to work directly with insurance companies.
WHAT IS YOUR FEE?
Individual counseling ranges from $90 - $150.
90 minute session for couples is $200.
I also offer a sliding scale for those who qualify. Please let me know if you would like to discuss this option.
DO YOU OFFER A SLIDING SCALE?
I believe that therapy should be accessible to everyone; for this reason I reserve a limited number of reduced-fee weekly appointments (based on financial hardship). Please contact me to discuss further.
DO YOU TAKE COMMERCIAL INSURANCE?
Like many other therapists in private practice, I do not bill commercial insurance directly. If you have an insurance plan that includes coverage for out-of-network providers, I am happy to supply you with monthly invoices (superbills) that you can submit for reimbursement (typically this covers a good percentage of my fee). Check with your plan directly to verify your coverage. You may be asked for the CPT code in order to verify reimbursement rate; the CPT code for 60-minute individual sessions is 90837. Insurance companies are required by law to reimburse their members within 30 days.
HOW OFTEN WILL I SEE YOU?
I typically see clients once a week. Sometimes during a crisis or in an effort to jump start therapy clients will come in twice per week.
